- Using an Outlook.com account is a great alternative for your current POP3 or IMAP account if you want to sync your emails, contacts and calendar items with multiple devices such as your desktop, laptop, netbook, tablet or smartphone. It behaves a lot like a personal (hosted) Exchange or Office 365 account but for free. You can set it up with an @outlook.com address, your own domain but also.
Vistaprint Still Sucks (pt 3)
I have my btinternet email going to it no problem and also my yahoo email. I just can't get this stupid vista email to work lol I've rung vista print twice, both times they sent me a email with detailed step by step instructions on how to set it up, but it still won't work My phone is asking for details that the instructions don't mention. I'm trying to connect outlook and vistaprint email. Technician's Assistant: When did you last update Outlook? Technician's Assistant: What have you tried so far with your Outlook? New account the same way I add godaddy email for example. Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Software Expert to know before I connect you?
I swear, you just can’t make this stuff up.

So last night (Tuesday the 7th at 6:51pm) I sent this email message to the email address customercare@vistaprint.com (one of the two ways to deactivate my account):
Greetings,
Please deactivate my Vistaprint account. I do not want to get email message from Vistaprint. Or you Partners. Or your Affiliates. I do not want you to continue sharing any of my personal information with Anyone, any other entity. This includes my name, telephone number, email address, and postal mailing address. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Michael
This morning I received a spam sent to my Vistaprint email address. See Vistaprint Still Sucks (pt 2) for details.
I have just received an email from Vistaprint with a time stamp of Wed August 8th at 7:31pm. This message was sent more than 24 hours after I sent my note to them. So they either have a horrible email infrastructure, or this was not an auto-response message, it was sent by a person. Here the message (I added line breaks for legibility):

So, Vistaprint has now put in writing that they do not follow their privacy policy. A privacy policy is a part of the contract that a customer is expected to read and follow when they make a purchase with the company. Is it too much to expect that the customer should expect the company to actually follow their own privacy policy?
A report has been filed with the Federal Trade Commission and the Virginia Dept. of Consumer Affairs only accepts telephone reports, so I’ll call them Thursday morning. The VA DCA web site suggests I also contact the state of the company as well, so I’ll call Massachusetts tomorrow.
Once you’ve configured and activated your HostPapa email service, you can set up your POP or IMAP email account in Outlook 2016, Outlook 2019, and Outlook 365.
For easy webmail access, you can always use https://webmail.yourdomain.tld if you’re on a shared plan (replace yourdomain.tld with your actual domain) or https://mail.papamail.net/ if you use Basic or Advanced email service.
Follow these steps to automatically or manually configure your Outlook IMAP settings or POP mail settings.
Automatic account setup
The first time you run Outlook, you’ll see a welcome screen like this one:
- Click Next to get started.
2. If you’ve previously configured Outlook, click the File tab at the top of the window.
3. In the Info category, click the Add Account button.
4. In the Add an Email Account wizard displayed, you’ll be asked Do you want to set up Outlook to connect to an email account? Ensure the radio button next to Yes is selected, then click Next.
5. In the Auto Account Setup panel, enter the following details:
- Your Name: Enter the name you’d like to appear on your emails.
- Email Address: Your full email address.
- Password: Your email account password.
- Retype Password: Enter your email account password again.
6. Click Next. Outlook will now attempt to retrieve your email server details and set up account access.
Manually set up POP3 or IMAP email accounts
- If your server cannot be found, check that the email address you entered is correct and try again. You can enter your server details manually by selecting Manual setup or additional server types. Then, click Next.
- Outlook supports standard POP3/IMAP email accounts, Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft 365 accounts, and webmail accounts including Outlook.com, Hotmail, iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, and more. For HostPapa email services, select POP or IMAP.

- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): For POP or IMAP accounts, use mail.yourdomain.tld if you’re on a shared plan (replace yourdomain.tld with your actual domain) or mail.papamail.net if you use Basic/Advanced Email services.
- User Name: Your email account username.
- Password: Your email account password.
5. Click the More Settings… button. In the Internet Email Settings window, select the Advanced tab.
6. Enter the following details:
- Incoming server: Ensure the default port is set to 995 for POP accounts or 993 for IMAP accounts. Click the checkbox next to This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
- Outgoing server (SMTP): Change the default port (25) to 465 for POP or IMAP accounts. Use the dropdown menu next to Use the following type of encrypted connection to select SSL.
Switch to the Outgoing Server tab. Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, then click the radio button next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings window. In the POP and IMAP Account Settings window, click the Test Account Settings… button to ensure Outlook can communicate with your email server.
